What's Happening?

Namaste, Y’all

May 19, 2012

After a long first day of Hangout fest, who wouldn’t want to find some inner peace before another full day of music?  “Rock Your Body” yoga on the beach this morning was the perfect start to day 2.  Yogi Kelly Morris, from Brooklyn, was leading the group and came armed with her team of fellow yogis to help everyone achieve the perfect downward facing dog.

As yoga attendees were filing in, the hustle and bustle of the morning set up was obvious.  Tractors grating out the sand and making deliveries were plowing all around the serene yoga space.  Once those came to a halt, and we thought we would hear only the peaceful sound of the waves, the Red Hot Chili Peppers began sound check.  Hey, I am in no way complaining about getting a little taste of RHCP before tonight’s set, but I’m not sure that “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” is the best song to get my OM on to.  After a few more songs, the sound check concluded and we heard only the sweet sounds of Garth Stevenson on cello.

Kelly was a great instructor and gave a little humor to the morning yoga session.  I’m not sure if she realized, but she was continually telling the group to “give it all away”.  Maybe she got a little inspiration from the Chili Pepper’s sound check?

If you missed yoga this morning, you can still go tomorrow morning at 9am in front of the Sky Bar.  Tickets are $24 and free for VIP & Big Kahuna ticket holders.
