Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
May 20, 2012
It was my first time seeing Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros and they were absolutely ahhhhh-mazing. Alex Ebert started the set in the crowd whistling his first song. He made his way through the middle singing with fans along the way. They broke into a full jam and kept the crowd moving all set. Alex Ebert stayed barefoot and spent a big chunk of the show in the sand singing to fans.
When Jade Castrinos started singing the opening lines to their hit “Home”, the song took on a new meaning for the band and fans. I bet they never thought that they would actually be in Alabama singing the lyrics “Alabama, Arkansas, I do love my ma and pa.” It was a magical moment for everyone watching the show.
I wish I would have seen them when I had other chances before, but now I know not to miss out. Their sound was huge and they are a crowd favorite. Check them out if you haven’t!
